Everything people ask us about the IHP Geyser®, installation, UFMS contracts and commercial systems.
IHP Geyser®
Why choose the Power4Less IHP Geyser®?
A conventional geyser accounts for 50–60% of a typical electricity bill. The IHP Geyser® brings water heating down to about 10% — roughly what your lights use — taking annual running costs from around R30,000 to about R2,000. It is engineered not to leak or burst, delivers up to 15 years of service with proper care, keeps water hot for longer through superior insulation, and is app-controlled from anywhere.
How does it actually work?
Instead of burning electricity in an element, a built-in fan draws in surrounding air. The system absorbs and compresses that heat, then transfers it straight into your water. The cycle repeats continuously on less than 600 W, compared with the 3,000–4,000 W of a traditional electric geyser. Same hot shower, a fraction of the cost.
What do I need for installation?
The unit stands upright, ideally outdoors on a flat, level surface, with a plug point within 4 m. If you shelter it under a cover, leave at least 2 m above the unit for maintenance. Certified IOPSA IHP installers work nationwide, and we supply a pre-installation guide. Installation vouchers are available at select retail partners — ask for the IOPSA installation terms when using one.
Which sizes are available?
Two: the 200 L model for households of 2–4 people, and the 300 L model for larger families or high hot-water demand. Sizes and weights may change slightly as model improvements are introduced.
Can any plumber install it?
We recommend IOPSA-certified IHP plumbers. They have completed specialised IOPSA training and certification specifically for installing the Power4Less IHP Geyser®, which protects both your installation and your warranty.
Does it work in winter?
Yes. The heat pump operates from −15 °C to 43 °C, and a built-in 2 kW backup element adds heat when demand is high.
UFMS
What is UFMS?
Utility Full Maintenance Solutions (UFMS) is a tailored service for power and water management. Power4Less designs, installs, insures, operates and maintains the infrastructure, and you pay a fixed tariff for the output — independent of your turnover or market segment.
Do we need capital or loan security?
No. UFMS removes the need for upfront capital, loan security or financial gearing, so surplus capital can go into growing the business rather than securing utilities.
How much can our costs increase?
The tariff is fixed for the contract period, with annual increases capped between 5% and 7%. That makes utility costs a predictable budget line.
What savings are typical?
Businesses, body corporates and industrial power users on UFMS typically achieve up to 35% cost reduction on utilities.
Who owns the system?
Power4Less owns and maintains it during the contract. An ownership option is available after the contract term.
Commercial systems
What is inside a PowerCube®?
A fully integrated system combining AI-driven energy management, central HVAC integration, liquid-cooled battery technology, three-layer battery management, and fire suppression with gas detection linked to the main power line. Full technical specifications are shared before installation.
What warranty applies?
All equipment comes from Tier-1 OEMs and carries a ten-year OEM warranty and support programme, with an unconditional warranty for the full contract term underwritten by leading global insurers.
How large can bulk water heating go?
The IHP bulk system heats up to 1,500 L with a 6 kW integrated smart heat pump rated at 38 kW heating capacity. The range extends to systems of up to 20,000 L, designed around your site.
